The history of the land on which our homes are built remains largely unknown, spanning thousands of years.
Consecrated grounds are typically associated with churchyards or other religious structures, regardless of their specific faith or physical form.
Even our Pagan predecessors worshipped at temporary altars!
If a site is no longer utilized for sacred purposes yet still contains residual energy patterns, it is still considered holy. It must be deconsecrated to be repurposed for secular use.
Essentially, deconsecration entails the transition from a sacred to a secular state.
Consecrated land and buildings vibrate at a higher level which is great when you are communing with the divine, not when you are trying to Netflix & chill for the evening.
It is good to visit a sacred or holy site as the energies found there can be exhilarating. But if you stay too long, they can become very draining.
You may live in a converted church or chapel and discover that it hasn't been deconcentrated before purchasing it and moving in.
Your property could have had Native Americans in the past using the area for ceremonies, but now there is an apartment complex located there.
